New York City, NY
New York City is one of the greatest cities on the planet – a global center of business, finance, art and culture. It’s also home to almost 9 million people in the five boroughs alone. From the hipster scene in Brooklyn to the emerging arts scene in Newark, from the tourist filled sidewalks of Broadway to the quieter suburbs in the outer boroughs, Break’rs will get to sample the full range of the NewYork experience.
Amidst the great wealth of New York is also great poverty, and in partnership with Break A Difference’s non-profit partners, Break’rs will focus their week of service on helping those most vulnerable; assisting local food pantries with packaging and providing needed groceries; working with soup kitchens to provide hot meals to those experiencing homelessness; restoring and improving community parks and green spaces, and renovating faciltiies for children and young people.
$395 covers ALL COSTS for your week long break, including housing, three meals a day, all local transportation, all volunteer supplies and tools, and exploring the community. We also offer every participant a personal fundraising site, and assistance crowd-sourcing the costs of your trips.
While days vary based on location, and some days are half days with time off to explore the local community, this is our typical schedule.
